The East Doors of the Baptistery took Lorenzo Ghiberti and his workshop 27 years to complete. The gilt bronze doors have 10 panels depicting scenes from the Old Testament. Ghiberti employed the recently discovered principles of perspective to add an incredible sense of depth to the low relief panels.
