Fontaine de Kerdiéquel (Catherine), Callac

This fountain is located at the entrance of Callac coming from Guingamp, on a path leading to the village of Kerdiéquel, which the locals pronounce rather Kerjéquel. It has undergone some transformations and is decorated on the interior facade with a bust of a man which seems to have been added to the original fountain. The monument is topped by a “Descent from the Cross”, which has now disappeared. The collective memory of the old inhabitants of Callac tells that this fountain which was once near the Sainte Catherine chapel, rue Jobic, was moved when this street was widened, in the years 1885.
