This is a grinding surface found at a remote site in the Red Rock District of the Coconino Forest near Sedona, Arizona. The site has abundant evidence of Sinagua habitation, pottery and lithics.
The grinding surface has been “pecked”, presumably to roughen the surface for renewed grinding activity.
