This model is part of an ongoing project to document “at risk” features at Heritage Sites in the Coconino Forest due to natural or vandalism related issues.
This is the small water wheel at the Crescent Moon Recreation Area close to Sedona, Arizona. The structure was constructed in the 1930s. The model is incomplete due to very poor lighting conditions and minimal space to work. It was used to generate small amounts of energy to power local pumps for irrigation at the site.
