This is part of rock art panel 9 at the V bar V Heritage Site south of Sedona Arizona in the Red Rock District of the Coconino Forest. The lighting is enhanced via electronic flash to highlight details in the pecked areas. These are Sinagua culture pectroglyphs created via the indirect percussion style common in the area at the time circa 1100-1300 AD.
This model is part of an ongoing project to document “at risk” rock art at our Heritage Sites due to natural or vandalism related issues. Additional information about the Red Rock District of the Coconino Forest can be found at the following web sites http://www.sedonaredrocktrails.org/
