More model informationThis grooved petroglyph is located on Panel 9 of the Water Catchment alcove at the Palatki Heritage Site. It is partially superimposed on very faint Sinagua red pictograph. It is unclear whether the petroglyph is Sinagua, Yavapai or historic “settler/rancher” in origin.
The deeply incised prallel vertical lines are approximately 1.5 centimeters apart. The overall height of the symbol is just over 10 centimeters.
Above the deeply incised grooves are traces of very faint, finely incised lines that in several areas on this panel are clearly superimposed by Sinagua paint.
