This is a small area of panel 11 in the Bear Alcove at the Palatki Heritage Site NW of Sedona, AZ. This panel is part of a study of probable Archaic or older fine line incised petroglyphs associated with Sinagua and younger pictographs and petroglyphs.
This model was acquired with a strobe aligned straight on with the lens to eliminate shadows that hide some of the detail relationships of the various petroglyph and pictographs present. The artificial light is required to get sufficient detail within the incised lines. The model is used to evaluate superposition of specific incised petroglyphs and intersecting lines and paint.
