More model informationThis is the corner of the lower portion of panel 13 on the left and panel 12 on the right in the Bear Alcove of the Palatki Heritage Site NW of Sedona, Arizona. Panel 12 is fractured at approximately 70 degrees from the extension of panel 11 (eroded). There are variable layers of clay to fine grained sand size on the fracture face on panel 13. Panel 12 shows evidence of gray/black very thin fracture fill layer assumed to be iron and/or manganese enriched. Initially the dark fracture fill was interpreted to be smoke damage from Sinagua fires. The distribution on the rock face did not make sense in terms of location.
Both fracture faces are impacted by near horizontal fractures.
