Neka Art Museum, Bali. Garuda is a Hindu deity, typical of Indonesia. Around the Greater Ubud area, you will find the many workshops of wood sculptors who carve these intricate unpainted statues. Nowadays, Ubud has expanded into a somewhat crowded and pretentious Euro-centric playground catering for ‘spiritual tourists’ pretending to learn yoga and staring incessantly at their smartphones but you can still find some of the more authentic feel and learn some of the real heritage if you choose.
