“This church was some 60ft. 4in. long and 22ft. 3in. broad externally, walls 3 to 4ft. thick. The date 1617 is cut in the lintel of the W entrance.[too overgrown to be captured this visit] Said to have been rebuilt in 1617, the church was allowed to fall into ruin when the parish of Garrel (G Chalmers 1890), Garwald (G Chalmers 1890), Garvald was annexed to Kirkmichael in 1660.
