Glenleraig is the site of what remainins of an extensive pre-clearance village / township - it comprises of the remains of over 50 surviving buildings, enclosures, trackways and field systems. The remains of the mill modelled here would still have been in use at the time estate maps of Assynt were prepeared by John Home (1774) - the clearance of the township took place in 1812.
