Goblin from 'Tylwydd Teg' (Clay sculpt)
Digitised version of the goblin from ‘tylwydd teg’. This is a digitised clay maquette of a digital character i created for my final degree project back in 2002. I finally got round to converting the fired clay model I created as part of my animation.
The clay model was fired and then red oxide applied and fired again. The model is approx 9 inches tall
The story behind the ‘Tylwydd teg’ belongs to North Wales folklore from the 17C, and I believe it was a story to encourage the baptism of children, based on that if you didnt baptise your newborn, then the Tylwydd Teg, would come and swap the child for one of their own.
