This was an ancient sea with clay beneath a layer of rocks. The rocks have protected the clay from washing away. Boulders are not let on top of pillars of clay. Few plants grow out here and is is one of the most alien like locations that we can visit. Two people were captured in the foreground in the lower right along with their footprints give this a sense of scale, as does the parking lot. Footprints are almost everywhere. The rest of the place was largely empty of people and plants. A Cinemaster EXO drone was used to shoot this.
