Prehistoric carved boulder on Goldsborough Rigg, Cotherstone Moor, W of Cotherstone, County Durham.
Referenced 4 in the Goldsborough section of the 1998 publication ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of County Durham, Swaledale and Wensleydale’ this stone was added to ERA as ‘Goldsborough Rigg 4’ in 2008. The Historic England scheduling for this describes:
‘The rock is partly covered by turf, and the visible part measures 1.4m by 0.8m by 0.2m high. The carving consists of at least three cups, several parallel descending grooves, and several other grooves.’
