More model informationOne of the many arch stoppers at St. Mary’s Collegiate Church in Gowran, Co. Kilkenny. They are attributed to the Gowran Master, a very gifted and busy medieval stone mason, whoever he may have been. The carved head can be seen up close climbing up the narrow staircase on the South side of the ruin. (The bent bit to the right is the gate that blocks the window, which isn’t bent in real life, but I wasn’t going to waste any photographs on the gate…)
