GRADD 3D Model Toulouse Capitole Central Courtyard
The seat of the municipal government has been located in the same location since 1190. The present building contains elements from the 16th century, from the beginning of the 17th century, and its monumental brick, stone and marble facade dates from 1760. Its interior decoration was Designed at the end of the 19th century as a vast program designed to portray the history of the city.
Central courtyard, known as the Henri IV courtyard, are the oldest architectural elements of the building.
Eastern portal to the chisel of Nicolas Bachelier (1546), the “master of the Renaissance” in Toulouse. The goddess Pallas is surrounded by two female figures, one carrying a stick with the cross of Languedoc (originally Bachelier had carved an owl on this stick), the other brandishing a crown of laurels and a flowering branch.
