Ramesseum, Luxor, Egypt
Sketch of original graffiti by Roger O de Keersmaecker
Graffiti of traveller ‘Champon’ - carved on one of the outer walls of the Rammesseum. This graffiti is particularly worn due to exposure to sand erosion.
The graffiti is dated to 1789, making this one of the earliest known European travellers to have left graffiti at this site, being prior to Napoleon’s campaign in Egypt.
