Prehistoric carving found in the Green Gates area of Rombalds Moor, West Yorkshire.
This low, ground level rock sits a few metres N of ‘Green Crag 05’ or ‘Pitchfork Rock’. It’s referenced IAG257 by Boughey & Vickerman’s (B&V) in their 2003 publication, ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of the West Riding’ and described as:
‘Medium-sized, low, flat grit rock. Five cups, one with two rings, and groove out.’
The CSI: Rombalds Moor project referenced the stone ‘Green Gates 06’ on ERA in 2013.
This model also shows areas of possible carving drawn on B&V’s panel plan but not described. The preservation level of the cup and multi-ringed motif may suggest it has been covered for some time.

This decimated model was created from 49 images captured by Richard Stroud (CSI team) during a small trial of SfM technologies in September 2012.
