Hagby round Church, part 1, Kalmar, Sweden
This model shows Hagby round nave church, just outside Kalmar, Sweden. The model shows the church in an early stage at the excavation in 2014. Only a few graves have been excavated and the three burial chambers have not been investigated yet. Four large column basis in the center, partly demolished, dates probably from the 13-th or 14-th century. A silver hoard with 123 coins from the 11-th and 12-th century was found in the northern part of the nave. A large number of graves/skeletons were excavated and are now undergoing an osteological examination. See also Hagby, part 2, for a comparison.
This model was photographed and processed by Johan Stenvall, Linköping office, and from approx 300 photos.
