Hamilton Mound Cistern Feature Area3D ModelNoAI
The Hamilton Mound site (EVER85, 8MO59) is in Everglades National Park. Historic settlement indications at the location are in the form of a cistern and remains of sugar works that are found on top of prehistoric shellworks, shell mounds, and the earthen mound complex. The Hamilton house site is from the early 20th century. It has a single tabby cistern, house ruins, and sugar works, including a cast-iron kettle and extant brickwork from a boiling operation. The site was surveyed by the USF CDHGI in collaboration with the National Park Service, using terrestrial laser scanning, structured light scanning of detail features, GPS, and specialized imaging to document the site remains and collect information on current conditions. The trees and vegetation, except where in contact with the structural remains, have been digitally removed from this model to allow full visualization. This is the section of the cistern wall that has an inscription.
