@Purzy Hey thanks! Im pretty new to hand painting myself, so I wouldnt consider myself an expert. What I have found that helps me is to break down the hand painting process into stages. My basic process is Line art (any smaller details that is not present in the model but needs to be in the texture) I then throw down some base values to try and get the different surfaces sitting together. From there I would add some flat colours to make sure the colours all sit well together. Next stage I would determine my light direction and light source with big soft gradients (bright to dark) After all those steps, the next stage would be to paint in your forms and planes on a standard paint layer while keeping your light direction in mind. After that its adding in the smaller touches and re balancing values/colours as needed :)
