Possible prehistoric carved rock, found on private farmland NW of Riddlesden, Keighley, West Yorkshire.
This small rock was found in area of quarrying activity, during CSI:Rombalds Moor project surveys in 2012. Although the marking is artificial (tooling visible), it is not clear whether the marking is prehistoric. The CSI: Rombalds Moor project recorded the stone ‘High Carr 08’ on ERA in 2013 describing:
‘Panel consists of a single cup approx 6cm diameter with possible peck marks, carved on a small piece of irregular and worn smooth sandstone 0.37m x 0.21m x 0.14m, of medium grain (a finer grain rock than the surrounding outcropping sandstones)’

This decimated model was created from 5 stereo pairs captured by Richard Stroud (CSI team) in April 2012. The imagery forms part of the HLF funded CSI: Rombalds Moor / Watershed Landscape Project archive.
