Historic Gravesite at Cape Canaveral3D ModelNoAI
The gravesite of 21-year-old Nicholas N. Jandreau, a young man who was the son of a deep-sea fisherman and early pioneering family, can be found at the Cape Road Cemetery (8BR233) on the Cape Canaveral United States Space Force base in Brevard County, Florida. Nicholas died after a battle with measles and pneumonia. His grave is fairly unique in style, and is a flush-to-the-ground ledger type, made of concrete with hand-incised inscription. A reference to the bible passage John 3:16 is carved below his death date. These early settlers to the area lived in historic coastal settlements on what is today surrounded by space launch complexes and military facilities. Our 3D and geophysical grant research here, entailed the complete above and below ground documentation of these historic cemeteries and burials, with results assisting in the management and historic preservation of these sites.
