Since China is in rapid development, the urbanization process has become faster and faster in recent years, and poverty alleviation work has continued. But new problems have arisen. New ideas spread into the countryside, and the younger generation no longer clings to their hometown. More and more people are leaving their homes just to pursue a better life. At the same time, rural areas lack labor forces, thus forming “hollow villages.” The increase in hollow villages has caused elderly people who are unwilling to leave or cannot leave their hometown to rely on themselves to live, and the problems of lonely elderly and left-behind children have gradually intensified. This can easily cause imbalances in urban and rural development, lead to heavy urban burdens and rural labor shortages.
