More model informationThis is a plaster reconstruction of the skull of Homo erectus, based on early fossil discoveries in Java (Indonesia) at the end of the 19th century. Considered to have been the first species to have expanded beyond Africa, Homo erectus is considered a highly variable species, and possibly the longest lived early human species. This item has always been part of the collections of the former Geological Museum, nowadays included in the DISTAV collections at the University of Genoa.
