More model informationThe House of Representatives desk was made by Doe and Hazelton in Boston in 1857, and was used in the US House of Representatives until 1873. It features stars and stripes, and has a small area on the top for a quill pen and ink. This particular desk is #83. It was used by Thaddeus Stevens of Pennsylvania, who was a very strong advocate for abolishing slavery.
