IMI Mini Uzi is a modification of the Uzi submachine gun. The weight is reduced by lightening the bolt, reducing the barrel length, equipping the submachine gun with a short reciprocating mainspring. The submachine gun has a self-locking action. A stock is attached to the Mini Uzi at the back, which folds to the side. The weapon has two modes of firing: single or continuous burst.
Near the muzzle of the barrel there are two transverse grooves that reduce the movement of the barrel upward when firing in bursts, that is, they act as a compensator. The bolt has a tungsten liner, which reduces the rate of fire due to the increased mass of the bolt. There is a variant of the Mini Uzi chambered for the American .45 ACP cartridge, with 16 and 32 round magazines for export to the United States.
