The barge Industry was built in 1905 and sank in 1953 in 80 ft of water in northern Lake Michigan. Brendon Baillod’s research which pin-pointed the wreck within 100 ft of the actual location led to the discovery by Ken Merryman in September 2020. The over 2,000 images for the model were taken on one 30 minute dive, but required over 50 hours of individual exposure and color correction to make the model which is still far from perfect. Challenges were the poor visibility, the balance between ambient and artificial light, the amount of complicated detail on the site, and the inset of the cabins from the side of the hull. These factors made the color and exposure variance between the near and far features of the images considerable. Note this model also has internal cabins which can be seen if you zoom in through the outer hull in the area of the forward deck hatch.
