More model informationA late medieval grave slab broken into three pieces (only two in 1905, when Carrigan described it). The inscription according to Carrigan reads: “HEARE LIETH JOHN BOLGER OF ENISTAGE BVRGES HIS WIFE IOAN MVRPHEY WHIH (sic) DIED THE 30 FEBR[V]ARY A.D. 1616”. I read: (Vertical lines indicate a break in the stone, slashes a corner.) “HIARE LIETH // JOHN || BOLGER OF ENIST || [E]AGE BVRGESS1 // HIS WIFE JVAN // MVRPHEY WHIH [sic] DIED || THE 302 FEBR || [V]ARI 1616”
1 Blurry in my scan, apologies.
2 There is something after the “O”, it might be “3 OF FEBRVARI” instead.
