This Iron Splitting Wedge was recovered from Bonneau Ferry Wildlife Management Area during archaelogical survay conducted by the SCDNR Heritage Trust team.

Splitting Wedges, such as this one, are used to split logs by driving the wedge through a log with a sledgehammer.
