More model informationThis model was exhibited at the Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2016. De model is part of the submission of The Netherlands titled: ‘BLUE: Architecture of UN Peacekeeping Missions’ by Malkit Shoshan. Shoshan created the modelbased on photos made in Mali. For her research, as fellow at the Fellowship Program of Het Nieuwe Instituut, Shoshan visited the camps of the Dutch peacemission of the United Nations. The ‘Jewels of Castor’ is a place based where the airforce relax. ‘Jewels of Castor’ is equipped with a tipi, a wooden rocking horse, two artificial palm trees, and a hut that resembles a beach house with a sign saying: ‘Free WiFi’.
