I’ve recently been watching Arcane and it is pretty great. I’ve never played League of Legends so I don’t know anything about the characters but as a standalone story it’s very well told. The artstyle is also incredible, it’s like Spiderverse on steroids with a bit of Dishonored thrown in. I wanted to do an Arcane piece and I was scrolling through Twitter and came across this concept by Blushy/Spicy. I absolutely love the pose and the colours just pop, and once again, I thought it would worked very nicely as a 3D model!

I actually used the Fortnite model for the final piece, as it saved me from doing a lot of retopology. For fan art like this, using base meshes isn’t the worst thing in the world as it’s just meant for fun, but I would never use an existing model if this was a commission or as part of a portfolio while applying to jobs.
