More model informationJohn Cook (1833-1829) was a “pioneer hybridizer of roses” during the early 20th century. His locally-named varieties included Pearl of Baltimore, My Maryland, and Francis Scott Key. This plaque rests at the foot of a small rose garden in Druid Hill Park. At the center of the garden sits an antique sundial, which can be seen here. For more info about John Cook, visit this website.
