More model informationThis is one of the more elaborate jugs recovered from the moat at Caerlaverock Castle during archaeological excavations between 1955 and 1966.
It has a bridge-spout with one main handle and a pair of smaller side handles. It has applied strips, scales and pellets and a comb decoration with traces of a honey and light green glaze.
The stamped roundels (circular discs) probably imitate coins. It is thought to date from around 1300.
