Bullaun stone next to St. Patrick’s Raggedy Bush along the R697 in the townland of Kilmog or Racecourse. Although the site is originally associated with Saint Mogue aka St Aidan of Ferns, this stone impresseion was supposedly created by Saint Patrick’s knees when he was kneeling on the stone. I’m not sure if it was him kneeling once and just having “the power” or repeated kneeling in prayer which is supposed to have had that effect. In later times, a cross, a shamrock above the cross and the letters “SL” have been carved into the right side of the stone. It is usually covered more in twigs, leaves, rubbish and soil, but I cleaned it especially on St. Patrick’s Day 2024 for the scan.
