The principal motif is a bishop giving his blessing, standing with a book in his hands. His mistre indicates his status. Otherwise, however, the representation gives no basis on which to establish the identity of the person concerned. However, there have been suggestions to the identification of the bishop as being the faroes Bishop Erlendur (early 14th century). In the rounded upper panel there is a representation of the Madonna enthroned with the Infant Jesus on her lap, It muar presumably be seen a a sacred symbol, perhaps some kind of dedication symbol. On the back of the lectern panel a small escutcheon with a fesse is placed above where the oblique desk top must have been, it has no motif and presumably painted in the Middle Ages, therefor origin is unknown. In the rounded upper panel is the same coat of arms as in Bench end B. It is presumably an episcopal arms.
