Kolumna Zygmunta

Pomnik króla Zygmunta III Wazy został wzniesiony w latach 40. XVII wieku. Koncepcję kolumny opracowali Augustyn Locci i Constantino Tencella. W latach 1885-1887 oraz 1929-1931 pomnik był restaurowany. W 1944 został zniszczony przez Niemców podczas powstania warszawskiego, a kilka lat później zrekonstruowany. W 1965 pomnik został wpisany do rejestru zabytków.

Sigismund’s Column

The monument to King Sigismund III Vasa was erected in the 1640s. The concept of the column was developed by Augustyn Locci and Constantino Tencella. The monument was restored in 1885–1887 and again in 1929–1931. In 1944 it was destroyed by the Germans during the Warsaw Uprising, and a few years later it was reconstructed. In 1965, the monument was entered into the register of historic monuments.
