More model informationThis is a model of a ‘label stop’ from the south-east end of the nave arcade of Hull Minster. It is made of plaster and stone and is a copy of a death mask, a mould made on the face of someone recently deceased. It is early 19th century, made and installed at a time when the Minster was being heavily restored, so it may be of a generous donor, or a member of the clergy? Research is ongoing to identify the face!
