More model informationThe 281 ft wooden bulk freighter Langham was originally built in 1888 as the Thomas Adams. It was powered by a modern pair of Scotch boilers and a triple expansion steam engine. As the Thomas Adams it towed barges FAYETTE BROWN. then G. W. ADAMS & J. H. RUTTER. It was renamed Langham in 1902. In October 1910 while sheltering from a storm behind Keweenaw Point, it caught fire and burned with its cargo of coal and sank near Bete Grise. Today it is a popular dive site in the Keweenaw Shipwreck Preserve. The model was created from 5,541 30-megapixel images shot on three DPV dives by Andrew Goodman and Ken Merryman in less than optimal visibility.
