More model informationThis is an excellent example of a large Scombridae fish from the London Clay but I’m yet to identify the species as it has an unusual top of skull - similar to that of Wetherellus but not identical and the teeth look different. This has some distortion (squished) during preservation however it makes a great display piece with its jaws spread wider than normal. This was found by Dan hogburn on the North Coast of the Isle of Sheppey, England. This dates to the Ypresian, Eocene - 50-54 million years ago.
