Leather Stretcher, used for shoe making

This leather stretcher was used as part of the shoe cobbling process by Potts of St. James Street, Derby.

It has two leather plates which are placed inside the shoe and a screw mechanism is then used to move the plates apart and stretch the leather to the desired size and shape.
