This LEGO character was created for a university project, where I followed a full 3D production pipeline. The project had a focus on African Folklore, we had an option out of 3 folklores to choose from, I chose “The Grootslang” as my folklore. We had to work within the LEGO brand and produce a LEGO character and work off of the default LEGO character as a base.
Starting with original concept art and digital painting, I then modeled the character in 3D using Autodesk Maya, UV unwrapped it, and hand-painted the textures using Adobe Substance Painter to match my vision.
The final piece was rendered using Adobe Stager with attention to detail, staying true to LEGO’s style while adding my own creative twist. This project helped me develop my skills across design, modeling, texturing, and presentation, giving me a deeper understanding of the asset creation process from start to finish.
