More model information“These chess pieces form a remarkable group of iconic objects within the world collection of the British Museum. They were probably made in Trondheim, Norway, about AD 1150-1200. At this period, the Western Isles, where the chess pieces were found, were part of the Kingdom of Norway, not Scotland. It seems likely they were buried for safe keeping on route to be traded in Ireland.” - http://www.britishmuseum.org/about_us/news_and_press/statements/the_lewis_chessmen.aspx

@__JP England did not steal them. The Acts of Union, passed by the English and Scottish Parliaments in 1707, led to the creation of a united kingdom to be called “Great Britain” on 1 May of that year. The Lewis chess men were found in 1831 and the British Museum's collection was purchased from a T A Forrest that year.
The color in the scans looks good but the topography is really low quality. There's almost no detail.
Thank you British Museum for this amazing opportunity to view these artefacts up close.
So I think these were used in the Netflix movie atlas as Jennifer Lopez plays holographic chess in her office.
damn was gonna model this but then i saw that it is already 3d scanned
These 3D models are of very poor quality. I don't even know how it`s possible to make such bad 3D scans.
Hello, I used this in my Isle of Lewis set of chess men for the game "Tabletop Simulator".

Thank you for providing this!
Yes, England stole them. At least 3d scan them all and in a decent format. :\
Where are the other 82 pieces... did England steal them?
They look ok just because of the texture, without it - 3d models are quite poor quality - sadly :(
Ok¡¡
I love chess, and this chess set is amazing!
