Lighting Design Project - photogrammetry's power3D Model
I’m a lighting designer for architecture, that mean i’m used to spend lot of time in reconstructing 3D models of the buildings i’m going to enlight.
I think photogrammetry finds its best way to be used in the lighting design, because we need to enlight an existing building . One of the main forces of photogrammetry is the automatic unwrap, so we could avoid the texturing process, that is the most difficult. In lighting design is important because of luminance.
I took 54 pictures with my DJI Spark, some picture with my smartphone and some screenshots from a clip i recorded with the drone.
The model generated was initially composed by 475k triangles, simplified to 68k and exported to Sketchfab. I did the lighting design project in 3DS Max 2018, and render it over the existing texture. Than i upload the enlighted texture to Sketchfab in material panel.
