This pictish stone was first recorded by James Skene in the early 1830s lying prostate on Kaim Hill above Lindores village. When the ground where it laid was bought into cultivation the stone was moved down to a garden wall on the nearby roadside. In 1970 the stone was moved undercover to Abdie old church and placed in what is described as the ‘Old Mort House’ or ‘Coach House’. On one side is a mirror symbol. The front of the stone is complex with different phasing of carvings. The most recent is a benchmark - broad arrow pointing upward with a horizontal line across its point (19th century). Next, we have a sundial (17th-18th century?), James Skene shows the numerals on his drawing (1830s) although by this time the stone has fallen, there is also a slot for a gnomon. Behind the sundial and almost perfectly aligned is a Pictish Triple-Disc symbol, below which is a Cresent and V-Rod. Behind all symbols is a rectangle with possibly a v worn fish below the v-rod.
