More model informationThis model shows a section through the main part of the excavation and Roman layers. The semi circular cut feature in the foreground is a rakeout pit or possibly a collapsed oven. This feature is associated with a flue which was lined with heat affected bricks. The red and black ashy deposits can be seen in the section.

The scanner used was an Artec Leo which can scan up to 0.1mm accuracy and 0.2mm resolution. It is a remote handheld light scanner which uses white light and a camera to scan targets. These scans can then be turned into geometry which can be analysed and viewed in a variety of formats.
