More model informationBrass casement over a tomb said to be of Sir William of Arundel d.1400 and Lady Arundel. Large freestanding slab raised on a plinth. During the erection of the high altar reredos by Sir Gilbert Scott, the slab was removed and beneath were a lead coffin and a” female body” closely wrapped in lead. Arundel’s will, dated 1st August 1400, directed that he be buried behind the high altar (Palmer 1897, 103). A storage cupboard was built over the casement in 2014 and it is not currently accesible.
