Lordenshaw Hillfort 7d (Sept 2005)3D Model
Carved rock found incorporated within a rampart of Lordenshaw hillfort, Garleigh Moor, S of Rothbury, Northumberland.
Referenced ‘Lordenshaw Hillfort 7d’ on the Beckensall Archive (BA) this carved rock was added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008. Stan Beckensall originally described and drew 8 cups. NADRAP’s subsequent recording in 2006 notes:
“The four single cup marks are mainly shallow and scattered across the top of the outcropping panel. There is little variation between the cup marks and natural undulations of this surface.”
However, on the photogrammetry recording form compiled after processing they drew 9 cups.
