Keksijä Eric Tigerstedt (1887-1925) oli äänielokuvatekniikan suomalainen pioneeri, jonka varhaisiin kokeiluihin kuului äänen kuvaaminen filmille. Tämä laitekokonaisuus liittyy Tigerstedtin Kööpenhaminassa vuonna 1915 aloittamaan rinnakkaiseen kokeiluun, jossa ääni tallennettiin teräslangalle. Kokonaisuus koostuu laitekaapista, Ernemann elokuvakamerasta, Poulsenin teränlankatallentimesta eli telegrafonista ja ohjauskytkimistä.
Finnish sound film pioneer Eric Tigerstedt’s (1887-1925) experiments with ‘talking picture’ included photographing sound on film in early 1910s. This set of equipment is related to a parallel experiment started by Tigerstedt in Copenhagen in 1915, in which sound was recorded on steel wire. The set consists of a device cabinet, a cine camera, a telegraphone and control switches for operating the system.
