The idea that sparked the model: What if there are wizards and witches in the world and for some reason they need secret communication (maybe the wizard government isn’t that nice and checks normal letters?), so they use a magic mailbox in the middle of nowhere to send their mail to. Someone (probably a wizard too) picks up the mail in regular intervals and then brings them to the receiver.

About the model itself: I wanted to give the part inside the glass dome a crafted look by applying lacquered wood and fabric materials. I wanted there to be a contrast between the inside of the dome and the actual object itself, so I textured the base in a more realistic way than the fantasy part with the mail box. I wanted to give the feeling of being told a story through the model. When thinking about the concept I was inspired by Ghibli movies such as Howl’s moving castle (maybe the scare crow stuck in my head somehow and then turned to a mail box :D).
